YOUNG Sydney FC midfielder Brendan Gan has capped his promising debut season in style by signing a new two-year deal with the club.

The 20-year-old has been one of the few highlights in an otherwise glum season for the Sky Blues, scoring two notable goals and making six appearances - the past four of which have been in the starting side. Gan initially signed with Sydney's youth team after winning the NSW Premier League player of the year award with the Sutherland Sharks, but quickly proved himself capable of cutting it in the A-League.

Sydney will now turn their attention to securing the futures of several other young squad members, with many still uncontracted for next season.
